ECA WEEK 2023 | PART 3
As we approach the conclusion of ECA Week, we turn our focus to two additional talented staff members at Fella Hamilton.
From October 9th to October 15th, 2023, the accreditation body Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) and accredited manufacturers, have been actively celebrating and promoting Australian-made manufacturing. In PART 3 of our Blog, we continue to highlight the hard work involved in the making and delivering of our beautiful garments to its customers.
CYNTHIA | CREATIVE MARKETING MANAGER
6 YEARS at Fella Hamilton
1. DESCRIBE YOUR ROLE AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING IT FOR IN THE INDUSTRY?
I am the Creative marketing manager and I've been working in marketing departments for various brands for the last 20 years, either as a photographer or a graphic designer.
2. WHAT DOES OUR ETHICAL CLOTHING AUSTRALIA (ECA) ACCREDITATION MEAN TO YOU?
For me, the ECA accreditation represents the company's dedication to supporting local production and maintaining high-quality standards, alongside ensuring excellent working conditions for all those involved.
3. WHAT INSPIRES YOU EVERY DAY IN YOUR ROLE?
To be honest my inspiration comes from the incredible people I work with. It’s a really collaborative environment which I love, and I feel so lucky to be part of an amazing team! Not only that, working for a brand created by a woman in her early forties, one that empowers women and provides employment opportunities for many women, is just so wonderful.
4. WHAT ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS IN YOUR CAREER AT FELLA HAMILTON – A SPECIAL PROJECT OR INITIATIVE YOU HAVE WORKED ON?
One of the most humbling experiences in my career at Fella Hamilton was supporting Sharon and David as they navigated the challenges of the pandemic to create Fella Healthwear. Witnessing their efforts to not only assist those in need but also keep our staff engaged and working during such uncertain times was a truly remarkable experience.
5. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SEE A WOMAN WEARING ONE OF YOUR GARMENTS DOWN THE STREET?
Oh I love seeing the garments on our ladies out and about! I don’t have to look all that far because my beautiful mum and her friends are Fella fans. I so love seeing them at their various catch ups all dolled up in their Fella pieces and feeling fabulous!
6. WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU HAVE FOR FELLA, DAVID AND SHARON HAMILTON?
Thank you! Fella you are an absolute inspiration for creating and nurturing this brand into what it has become today.
Sharon & David, my heartfelt gratitude. I truely appreciate your unwavering care for the Fella Hamilton staff and treating them like family; it's a beautiful aspect of our workplace that I'm proud so to be a part of it.
CARMEL | STORE MANAGER, MALVERN
2+ YEARS at Fella Hamilton
1. DESCRIBE YOUR ROLE AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING IT FOR IN THE INDUSTRY?
I am the Store Manager of the Malvern store in Victoria, and I run the retail side of the business. I have been working in the fashion industry for over 16 years.
2. WHAT DOES OUR ETHICAL CLOTHING AUSTRALIA (ECA) ACCREDITATION MEAN TO YOU?
It means that our business is committed to supporting the manufacturing of Australian made clothing. From the beginning of the process to the very end, Fella Hamilton’s Australian made clothing is completely ethically accredited.
3. WHAT INSPIRES YOU EVERY DAY IN YOUR ROLE?
I love working for this company. The business is so fabulous to work for which makes working enjoyable every day. The clothes are easy to sell because they’re so lovely, and we love assisting our customers, old and new, to find the right outfit for them. I’m so lucky that I have a great team including Bernadette and Anne who also love coming into work.
4. WHAT ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS IN YOUR CAREER AT FELLA HAMILTON – A SPECIAL PROJECT OR INITIATIVE YOU HAVE WORKED ON?
I love that my whole team took part in the Million Paws Walk for the RSPCA this year which is one of the many charities that Fella Hamilton supports. I personally managed to raise $500 for this cause and that went towards to the company’s total donation.
5. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SEE A WOMAN WEARING ONE OF YOUR GARMENTS DOWN THE STREET?
If I see a lady out of the store wearing a Fella Hamilton garment, and the opportunity arises, I will say an opener such as “Oh! You are a Fella Gal!”. Then the conversation ensues generally about how they have shopped with us for years.
6. WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU HAVE FOR FELLA, DAVID AND SHARON HAMILTON?
Keep doing what you are doing! It’s amazing.
