Breast Cancer Network Australia Donation 2023
Wrapping up another big year at Fella Hamilton, we are delighted to share the results of our fundraising initiatives for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) campaign, which kicked off in October 2023. $5 from each purchase of the Anna Blatman Tea Towel contributed to BCNA, and thanks to the support of our fantastic customers, we successfully raised a total of $4880 for the cause.
Breast Cancer Network Australia stands as the foremost consumer organisation dedicated to breast cancer in Australia. Their relentless efforts aim to ensure that all Australians affected by breast cancer receive the highest quality care, treatments, and support.
It was an honour for David and Sharon Hamilton to present the Fella Hamilton cheque to Corporate Partnership Manager for BCNA, Sue Clohesy, at their Victorian office in Camberwell.
The $4880 was the result of instore and online sales at Fella Hamilton as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Due to the popularity of the Anna Blatman tea towels, the campaign saw Fella Hamilton place a further order for more tea towels in October, and the campaign was extended to November and beyond.
With the help of artist and Fella Hamilton collaborator Anna Blatman, the tea towels were designed with two birds named Fifi and Andie in honour of two inspirational women in Anna Blatman’s life who were diagnosed with breast cancer. Anna Blatman is a supporter of BCNA and is comforted knowing that funds raised through the tea towels go to services that support people with breast cancer.
Fashioned from microfiber, this tea towel not only captivates the eye with its vibrant and attractive design but also delivers outstanding functionality. It possesses the remarkable ability to absorb six times its weight in moisture. Ideal for drying and cleaning crockery, glassware, and cutlery, this tea towel effortlessly eliminates smears, watermarks, and fingerprints.
In line with Fella Hamilton's commitment to partnering with suppliers that promote Australian-made goods and ethical standards, these Tea Towels are meticulously cut, dyed, printed, and overlocked by a team comprising both skilled regular workers and those with special needs. Operating together at a production facility in Brunswick, Victoria, this local initiative involves providing support, training, and encouragement for special needs workers.
